Yes, but...

Good plot, nice twists, and sub plots but after first chapter began to move like a Readers' Digest Condensed Book. It was, for me, disappointingly short with so many opportunities to develop the appealing characters and sub plots which all had the necessary relevance they would add to the story without detraction as irrelevancies.

about them. This is much too good a story to let it just
waste away.

Well written, but maybe a little too telegraphic. Unlike
many stories, this one could have used a bit of padding out.

Perhaps you can add other stories based on these
characters.

Damned good!
I get the impression you wanted out, by this time. I had hoped for a paragraph or two on the Board meeting and so forth, but you skipped over that fascinating prospect. the 'spying' stuff was a bit too truncated as well, IMO.
To be frank, this three-parter has the makings of a damned good book, and I urge you to consider it.

This has to be one of the very best stories I have read

just loved the way it unfolded and kept rolling along at a cracking pace...loved the fact he ended up with two wives plus his daughter and close familt....just a brilliant well told story...

Could it be that the language the girls spoke is Afrikaans ? being inwolved with diamonds and the name van der vaart seems to be an indication
