Thank you for the good words. I have some notions about how the larger story might develop, but thought I'd keep it to this little scene and see if it wanted to be followed-up.

Really a delightful story. I enjoyed the language immensely. The characters were engaging and I'd be interested to read more.

I have some ideas on how to develop the main character, and I'll see if I can spin them up into some more chapters. I pared the first chapter back to just one scene so I could take it whatever direction made sense.
