Nice story

Only one thing that hindered the romance of the story,
"eating her out" is gross, find another term, such as " gently sliding his tongue into her"

Too Rushed

This story has a very nice premise but it is too rushed.
Dinner conversation could be a review of the couple's history and feelings for each other.

Instead of going straight home they could have gone for a walk with an escalating showing of affections and lust. Instead of jumping straight into bed some more foreplay first would help build the tension. The way you describe it, it is just a quick, unfeeling fuck.
