BZ but that was from another era. Very appropriate language and attitudes for the era you set the story in.

One of the better and more enjoyable short stories on Lit. A delightful read and as a vet I can attest to how uplifting letters from home are when you are far from home and in harms way.
If you know anyone who is serving, send a letter. It really helps to uplift their spirits, even in is age of email and Skype.

Very nice work.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story, and as a military history buff I can tell you your use of language was very proper for the time period. It was almost as if we read actual love letters sent back and forth between a young man and a young lady in the early 40's. Thank you for a very enjoyable read, that although it had no sex had all of the sexual tension of a budding romance.

I enjoyed it enormously and thought you captured the era very well. He must have been the only American airman not trying to lure British girls into bed with cheap cigarettes and silk stockings.

is so much better when there's a pretty girl waiting for you at your destination. I've experienced it first-hand.

There were undoubtedly millions of 'welcome homes' into the arms of lovely women after WWII. And then there was the Baby Boom which happened shortly thereafter.

Thanks for bringing back the memories of an era many years ago.

Wonderful story. I'll admit I was dreading the end. I thought there might be a sucker punch and that Tommy would have been shot down and killed. Glad it didn't turn out that way.
