Hdk, I don't mean to be petulant about this tale of tail. But this is a case where the bite was wurst then the bark. The unkindest bite of all. Not a walk in the park, with the little blue bags.
Do not leash your creative energies, you can never have too many Cook's in your H& S stories. This dogged detective finally sniffed out a clue or two.

This is satire at it's best.
Never talk to the police!
Never talk to the police, they are NOT your friend! They will lie to you and try every trick in the book to fool you into talking yourself into prison. Always invoke your right to an attorney, and then for God's sake shut the fuck up! Great free advice to go with a good fantasy story. In real life the husband would find himself arrested and charged with premeditated assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily harm at the very least, and attempted murder at the worst, as well as whatever other charges the local DA could come up with. He admitted to knowing what was going on and then deliberately training the dog to attack. He would be looking at a very long time in prison to contemplate the advice that I gave at the start of this comment.
Reality aside, this is a very fun and satisfying fantasy read for those who enjoy a good revenge for being fucked over story. I must admit to an addiction to a good revenge story, and the author can feed that addiction quite well. He could only be better at it if he wandered into the realm of the truly depraved and soulless bastards that are usually only found in horror novels and films. Think of a Dr. Lecter being cheated on and how he would react. LOL. Of course the real life versions of Dr. Lecter rarely, if ever, get married, or caught, but speculating on what they would do to a cheating slut and her lover(s) does make one wonder.
Of course it would be nice to see a story based on a bit of reality now and then, as in that most men love their wives, unless they cheat, then that love vanishes rather quickly. And in this day of a world of information at your fingertips, and lots of fairly cheap ways to access it from untraceable locations, such as say a McDonald's with free wi-fi a couple of towns away, and you have a way for even a normal husband to research the best way to get revenge without getting caught. And for some odd reason no one EVER seems to realize that a cheated on husband has countless ways available to make a cheating sluts life a living hell if he no longer has a reason to love her but doesn't let her know he knows and stays married to her until his plans are in place.
Oh well, someday an author will write such a story. I wonder how it would be received? It would be interesting to find out.

Kind of Not Guilty pt.2
It's not bad and it's funny as fuck, but not as good as the original. Which is not a knock on you HDK, as that story is unlikely to be surpassed at least within it's own genre [mix of LW and Satire].
