Is there any hope of a more extended piece in the future, one that joins the end back to the beginning? Offering a revenge outcome, which you do realistically here, proves the consolatory power of fiction. But better still is to make the reader think differently after they've read your story. Maybe I'm a hopeless optimist, but that's what I think makes writing worthwhile.
