Emma is confusing. She wants to have friends but on the other hand she seem to not want any. People are going to have pity for others when there is a traumatic event. I'm quite sure Emma would act in the same way if it was someone else.

Emma's character.

Emma wants friends, she doesnt want people to say "ohh poor little girl"..she wants people who act normal around her after 5 years. As you'll be able to see in the next few parts, she feels guilty.
