Brilliantly Strange

I really liked this poem. I generally bemoan the fact that modern poetry has abandoned all considerations of meaning as well as of writing for an audience that extends beyond an arcane group of academic poets.

This poem is brilliantly strange and succeeds in conveying a meaning, although that meaning likely resides in part on the subconscious of both reader and poet.
I gave it a "5."

You have references to Aleister Crowley, Pan, Therion and the Scarlet Woman here (Scarlet "ride"! Hah!), and I have no idea how it connects to the remote. I mean, I almost do. Someone lying belly up on the bed, looking at a remote on the floor. And then "I'm ready". For what?

The whole thing made me think of a Lovecraftian-style cultist who summoned "Pan" and is battling Crowley. So "I'm ready" for Crowley. But then again, maybe it's for Pan. It made me think of Crowley's "Hymn to Pan".

Had to laugh at "I'm so sick of the sound of Pan's flute and all the goddamned scuff marks on my floor. The droppings. The bleating. The head-butts after sex."

Well, this sure is conjuring a lot in my mind, with such a small amount of words. Very interesting.
