Worlds At War

5 for a nightmare that it is more close and more real than one can dare to think!
Sometimes I wish that these kind of subject would be predominant in poetry as a whole.
When did you write this? Just curious.

What is it about aliens destroying the world? And it always seem to be targeted at New York, or some other place in the US. Any race advanced enough to go across the stars has better things to do than make war. Anyway, "Mechanized spiders of doom". Nice, I want one.

I wrote this about 6 years ago as an homage to The War Of The Worlds written by H.G. Wells. It has elements from the latest Hollywood version starring Tom Cruise, although I loved the original movie where the alien war machines landed disguised as crashing meteors.

the reason it is the US or Japan, is because if it was bollywood, they would break out in song

Indeed, people in other places mostly have better things to do than being afraid/fantasizing about being attacked by imaginary enemies.
