i loved it , really enjoyed reading the story.
i can understand the Authors preface to chapter one.
in many ways it's not as emotional or powerful as her other work.
i don't want that to sound like a criticism, sometimes its refreshing to read something thats not so emotionaly draining or all consuming for the reader.

i had a great time reading this tale ...
without feeling like someone had reached down my throat and ripped my heart out.
without the foggy haze of tears in my eyes throughout every paragraph.
nealry 150 minutes to read, and i enjoyed it immensely.

This is a very well written story. I am a real stickler for language mechanics, and I find that the vast majority of Lit authors pay disturbingly little attention to the details of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. You seem to be the exception. If there is a single error anywhere in this story, I didn't spot it. You also did an excellent job with the dialogue, having each character speak consistently in the correct vernacular. Congratulations!
