Sounds like this "heroine" needs some counseling. This was too short and seemed to ramble. Also needs a bit of editing. Unclear where this is going. If there are more parts coming, then this should be titled "Ch. 01." And are we to assume Ms. Low Self-Esteem is planning an affair to fix everything?

I don't usually vote, but this story lost me when she says she WANTS her SON to see her as a slut! I really don't care what two (or more) consenting ADULTS do to satisfy themselves, but to poison the mind of an innocent child is too much.

As for their "boring" sex life, I have a couple of thoughts.

First, why care so much what others THINK about your sex life. Heck, if you put half as much effort into our sex life as you put into the image of your sex life you would have a better sex life than 90% of the couples out there.

Second, what have YOU done to liven up your sex life? When was the last time you met your husband at the door and gave him a blow job? Or initiated sex without him asking first? Have you ever asked him what would excite him, and tried to do it? Have you ever told him what would excite YOU?

Third, at 33 you are hardly "past your prime!"

She needs to talk...

She just needs to talk frankly to her husband...It's not good to hide what we feel...

Well there seems to be two choices

One - express concern over someone that seems to be depressed and in need of professional help. Two - this was a poorly written story that was neither interesting nor entertaining. If it's "one", then no vote. If it's "two", then I give you a zero.

ANON-'Two Choices' is on the right track ... as are several others. First ... this is NOT an LW story! Probably would fit best in Non-Erotic (since there is no Anti-Erotic category!)

Second ... if the author's goal is to get good advice, LW reviewers are mostly not an appropriate source! But 'Find A Professional Therapist - Fast' has been mentioned and I also endorse it. EVEN if the author thinks this submission doesn't represent her actual situation! Especially since she considers it OK to screw-up a kid's perceptions of his Mom (and his consequent female-image distortion)!

I guess I'm lucky

If my wife felt like that, she'd tell me. Then we'd see about doing what it was to make her completely fulfilled.

And believe me, in the past 40 years, she's told me plenty that she would like to try and we have. Only one time in all those years did I turn her down and we both agreed later, it was for the best. But having a spouse means ONE THING. Communication. If you don't talk, you don't have a marriage.

The only reason to be that unhappy is because you aren't willing to open up to the closest person in the world to you. Everyone in a relationship, a marriage at least, must talk about whatever their likes and dislikes are.

Buck up...

You're getting older... it happens to all of us (if we're lucky).

You have a family... many people wish they had just one person who gave a damn about them.

You have a job... a lot of people would walk over hot coals to have one.

You're not so much depressed as disappointed, and what makes your life so boring is that you chose to make it so.

It is a brave act to reveal the loss of something so personal as our sexual feelings and the downer feelings that have replaced your joy.......Try finding a piece of music that will move your soul and enjoy that till that lifts you from depression and then you can think differently about how to restructure your day....Give your self a break......

Find A Professional

My psychologist has been a god-send in assisting me with my depression and marriage. I can talk to her about anything and have. I suggest you find a professional that will help you. You may go through a few but eventually you will find someone and you will know. Believe me it works.

I disagree with some other commentors who claim that she needs to communicate more with her husband. From what she says about being a trophy wife whom he's gotten bored with, I think it's pretty clear what he really thinks of her and that he doesn't really give a shit about her anyway. I do think she should seek counseling because her issues are deeply rooted in a lack of not only self-esteem, but self-respect. Wanting to be degraded into nothing more than a fuck toy happens when someone has nothing else in their life to give them purpose and the only thing they think they are good at is getting someone else off with their body. By lowering themselves to such a level, it temporarily frees them from the pressures of figuring out where their life is going and what they want out of it. Sexually satisfying others brings about instant gratification and a pick-me-up for one's self-esteem. Its the same as any other drug, except the high is vicarious. This is actually the basis of what causes many women to become sex addicts. I'm not saying that this women is a sex addict, but this kind of thinking is very destructive. Even if she doesn't act on any of these impulses, the feelings behind them will only grow stronger and ruin any positive emotions from healthy sources because she feels that a dumb, aging slut that nobody wants anymore doesn't deserve to be happy.
