This chapter was a bit confusing. I may have to reread the story but it seems to be veering off into some sort of thriller. Not a bad thing but I didn't see any of this coming.

Also, the wife is not a very understandable character for me. Why did they marry? What does she know about him?

a story about good brood stock for family consumption. Poor Sarah needs to develop a backbone. and our protagonist needs to grow a pair.
