I enjoyed this very much. Not sure that i would call it Erotic Horror, but it is probably hard to categorise.

Lost Focus

This story really drew me in. I could not stop reading, until about p 3 1/2, then I skimmed it. There was too much going on, too much information. The introduction of the photo and the Iron Guard, too much. That's where you lost me. Not to mention the poachers. Also the "erotic" part was half-hearted and seemed tossed in to make it qualify as Erotic Horror. A fantastic, spooky beginning that just sort of fizzled out. I think you're an amazing writer, but you could use a good editor to keep it tight.

Hauntingly good story

Great read. The character development and plot were excellent and piqued my interest. I would categorize this story along the lines of romantic horror, but that's just me.

Absolutely amazing read! Great story, and only two typos after so many pages! Do you do your own editing or have help from someone else? Really, really well done. Absolutely amazing. Okay, I know I said that, but ... wow.

I loved it all, but especially the historical detail and plausible path of the evolution of myths.

OH MY GOD

That was absolutely amazing!!!! You are a very talented writer. I enjoyed the story from beginning to end. BY FAR one of the best I've read on literotica.

Amazing

You are the best author on this site. The story is beyond amazing.

Thank you for that

AnonymousAnonymousover 9 years ago
A good story but...

Your craft for writing is very good. However, I felt the pace at which the story progressed seemed slow at times. Very detailed, but oftem TOO detailed. Also there is little to no "horror" to be found in the story for it to be catagoried in erotic horror.

AnonymousAnonymousover 9 years ago
Wonderful

Finally, a story in here that isn't all groaning and heaving; very well written. Keep up the good work; perhaps you should try and send Otto a short story publisher; love it ❤

Thanks

Thanks to all of the readers who took the time to vote and/or comment on this story. I wanted to write a Halloween story with Transylvania as its theme and used the character of Matusa Ildiko as a way of weaving the rich history of that land into this tale.

I know it isn't as heavy on horror as some of the other stories in this category, but I think it still succeeds in the Gothic Horror tradition. And honestly, after I wrote it, I didn't think it fit in any category other than this one.

Thanks again ~ Seanathon

a curiously intriguing tale

I look forward to reading more of your writing.

Intrigue at first haunting.

I know some others thought this story had no elements of horror but the ghost at the beginning and the dark, faceless man made my skin crawl... had to turn on a light to be able to finish reading. XD Truly loved the story, especially with the backdrop of a centuries old myth from local folklore. Interesting Bathory tie-in too. <3

This is something special

Thank you so much for this beautiful story. Throughout the story I felt everything almost as real as the main character descripes and experiences feelings. That alone would be enough for me to instantly reward you with 5 stars for the story, but when it at the same time has the ending it has (which I'm not going to spoil) - an ending that made me just sit and cry through the last lines. Then there is also the fact that I didn't find a single spelling mistake or bad language like too many repetitions or wrong use of words, I can only say that you are a truly gifted writer. I totally agree with you that this story belongs in the horror category. Never have I read a 7 pages story so intensively.

Top notch writing!

Having read a couple of your stories and becoming a fan I decided that I would start at the top and work my way down. I saw that this one was Erotic Horror - not something that I seek out. However I decided that I would try and I am glad I did. It was a very good story and my only regret is that I found it only now and cannot vote for your story (but I am glad to see it took third place!)

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 8 years ago

ireally liked the story, its not really eroitic horror and i say that as a compliment, its a lover's tale of ancien times it actually makes me think i was there.i can honestly say it is a beautiful work of art

This is really excellent! So beautiful to read and so well thought out! Definitely not something I expected on here but I am so happy I had the pleasure of reading it. You should really consider publishing this, I know I would definitely seek out a copy. Keep it up :)

A story that stands the test of time

Well, anyway, until cell phones evolve into the next big thing :-) But this story could have been written ten years ago, ten years from now - still a great story - timeless, really. The things we do for those we love, in sharp contrast to the pettiness of the witch. Though the witch got her just desserts, as her lover was the first to die from the curse.

I have to admit, I was taken aback by the comment that the narrator would die, thinking, do I still want to read this story? But then it is highly rated, a winner, and I do like the author's other works, so I kept on going.

I did think the episode with the poacher went on a bit long, and it was a miracle that Andrei found Michael, but I think we can thank Matusa Ildiko for that.

A well-written story that transplanted me to Transylvania - I felt that I too, could smell and see what Michael saw - most wonderful!

Extraordinary

Omiting the huge historical errors, i am from România by the way, its a beatiful tale of love ,sacrifice and redemtion. To bad the ildiko could not lead a life and feel the love of another. You wrote probably the Most beatiful story on this site, and i read a lot of the. I am happy i stumble upon youre work. Keep writing like this and research a litle more the historical facts. The huns never conqured us, no other nation except romans. Extraordinary

Five stars!

This is an amazing story. Keep writing! I like all the love and tenderness in it, and at the end I felt so sorry for that poor cursed girl. It was probably her sad fate that captured me in this story. I failed to guess the final outcome, so the ending caught me as a surprise. Maybe longer erotic scenes could have been beneficial. All the historic references you made were a nice addition, even if they were not fuly accurate. They brought the story close to me. I partly agree with the previous comment, that we Hungarians didnt conquer Romania. Though a great part of present Romania belonged to the greater Hungarian kingdom, they had much independence. So it was more like an union then a military oppression. But I think beside the Romans the Turks did conquer them, as well as us. Isn't that so?

How to put this into words...

I clicked on this story out of sheer boredom, vaguely intrigued by the mini synopsis and title. Next thing I knew, my eyes were glued to the screen for the next hour, clinging onto every word.

EVERY scene demanded my full attention. Your story-telling abilities are beyond exceptional, to say nothing of the beautiful prose in which you write. This was an absolute joy to read and evoked such intense emotion from me. I had to sit for a while after finishing it, just staring at nothing and really thinking about what I'd just read.

It's not at all what I expected from a site like this, but I am so thankful I found it. You have done the job that every writer should strive to do: change his/her reader's life, enrich it, enhance it - all through the simple act of telling a story.

Amazingly done.

Unexpected

I began reading as though this would be a story focused on sex with some clever horrific twist near the end. Instead I found something of a very different, beautiful quality, and all I can say is thank you.

"But I knew it was too late. I saw him stepping from the shadows, his long vigil finally over. And as soon as I saw him I knew I'd seen him before. I'd seen him when he'd come to take my father. I'd seen him when he'd come to take my mother. And I'd seen him when he'd tried to take a red-haired little boy who'd refused to go without playing one last time. I knew the dark man well."

That brought tears to my eyes,

From a woodsman

You have woven a dark tale, that light shines from in the final pages. I was deeply moved by your story, and in this time in Canada when a madman has killed 22 of us, including one of our beloved RCMP officers, you lifted me. In pure appreciation of your skill, I salute you.

I am a woodsman and the writer of 12 novels, all unpublished. I am also a child of the Living God who has blessed me with the art of writing, so I know skill when I see it. Thankyou.

Very well told. A pastiche of history and ghost story with a beautiful setting and a main character stricken by grief and straddling the old world and the new and looking longingly at the old yet tied, by love, to the new. Such convincing sorrow intermixed with a Tolkien like sadness at the loss of the natural world to the unflinching machine of manmade progress.

All with a heartfelt and sad cursed young maiden.

Very much appreciated!
