Need to make one BIG correction or accommodation for story.

Obviously, he stole the money in present day America. The problem is the money with have security features and dates that are in the future. He will not be able to spend any of the money. So, how paid for the diner and the hotel? Otherwise, not a bad (but very brief) start.

Not so much on facts....for one the money he stole would be useless...for another, getting cell reception in the past is just absurd not to mention using the net to be updated on current future state....nonetheless good fantasy

dates

Yea cute story but same basic premise problem as everyone else the money could have been handles if he robbed a antiques store or jewlery store instead gold and jewls are gold and jewles no matter when and a small portion of cash today coukd be converted to earleier money but it is a time taking process and best done in short hops trading and searching for earlier dates 5 to 20 years at a hop mostly i would say

everything from the money to his clothes ,hair cut hell even the way he talks would be noticed in the 50s as wrong.so you might want to try again with the dates he goes back to,he could just jump back 6 months and be good.i just cant wait to find out which girl he fucks that becomes his grandmother.

Just garbage

No thought, no research, totally unbelievable plot and a central character who is a complete prick

Not Enough

While the hints of setting and circumstance might have held my attention, the main character seeming to be a total ass-hat makes the story a turn off. Maybe if he'd been setup as a villain and we could hope for something really terrible to happen to him...

50's car seats

There were few car seats that reclined in the 1950's. Only company that I knew of was the Nash company, later to become American Motors. They featured reclining seats in their mid 50's Rambler model.

They were klunky and uncomfortable. You could bust a kneecap on the center hinge that stuck up too far when the seats were reclined.

They still beat the competition though.
