Given that this is Chapter One, I'm interested to see where you take this story. There will obviously need to be some consequences, and I can think of a way this story could end that would be a fun twist.
I found it off-putting that you switched the narrative at the end, and began speaking directly to the readers. I recommend omitting the direct lecture in future chapters.
I can't stop laughing at the annonies who can't seem to understand the difference between real life and fiction. I picture these poor bastards screaming at their TV every night. Too funny.
The import issue isn't the final question, but what is said in the beginning: "My wife would be fucking other men even if we couldn't financially benefit from it..." So if both likes that she fucked others, why not have some benefits from it? They weren't even greedy...It's a interesting story, but not sexy I think...

How can you expect an honest answer to a loaded question?
If you presume a man's pleasure in a monogamous relationship is born out of "fear", insecurity, and the need to repress a woman's sexuality......then you will never understand how people can manage to stay faithfully married for 50 or 60 years. It's OK, you won't be alone. I think that this is why more people CAN'T stay faithful that long, and why so many marriages end in divorce. As many people can't imagine the first thought as to how or why a man might WANT to share his wife, JUST AS MANY people can't grasp what it takes to truely be successful at long-term monogamy.
(I want to make a statement about religion that is only used to make a comparison point, not to preach any specific idea....OK?)
Many people would say that Christianity and Judiasm are opposite faiths, right? However, it is amazing to me that those people can't see that there are many, MANY fundamental similiarities. They not only share the concept of monotheism, but it is in fact the SAME one and only God, after all. Furthering this idea, would be the comparison of Baptists and Catholics. Never would you think two faiths to 'hate' each other and see things more differently than these two. But vocal opponents on both sides seem to forget the many similarities these two christian faiths share as they focus soley on the differences. Hey this could be said about many social conflicts, including racism, politics, the economy or even sports teams.
It has been told to me, that open marriage folks can have successful marriages because that "sexual freedom" the open marriage allows, is viewed upon as a gift. If there is good communication, shared philosphies, and the abscence of taking the spouse for granted, then SURE, I guess it CAN work. Afterall, different strokes for different folks, right?
Why would you consider that a successful monogamous relationship doesn't feature those exact same things? I realize that my wife's total fidelity, loyalty, and ABSOLUTE devotion to me and our kids IS perhaps the GREATEST gift any one person can recieve from another. This is not something to be taken for granted, or abused. If ANYONE finds themselves in a relationship where they are feeling repressed, or abused, then the marriage has bigger problems than adultery, and is doomed anyway.
So is a man insecure, if he feels especial joy in recieveing a gift of security?
Is a man insecure, if he expects the same devotion he gives in return?
Is either partner insecure if they have the need not to be taken advantage of?
Is demanding total honesty a sign of insecurity?
Is the challenge of keeping things fresh with the same partner over the long haul and succeeding really less rewarding than taking the easy way out, and lazily allowing someone else the privilage of intamcy with your betrothed and then justifying your own inertia by calling it "freedom"?
Can't you see that there will always be people who will disagree with you, and yet never understand that no two people are exactly the same, and there are never any one-size -fits-all solutions to happiness?
Just when you think you have all of life's mysteries figured out, you just might come across somebody smarter, and more clever than you, and realize that you haven't figured ANYTHING out after all. Does that make the quest for self-improvement and enlightenment any less essential? Do you give up, or keep trying?
And so, does it really require attacking someones integrity and pride, in order to bolster yourself up as you try to hide the very same insecurities that you too must also possess?

It simply wasn't interesting. The characters are thoroughly unlikeable. The writing wasn't very clever and in the end, the story just wasn't entertaining.

It was pretty well written, but.....

The wife seemed a gleeful slut, with no remorse or guilt (the narrator seemed more resigned, than enthusiastic) and the whole thing seemed contrived.
OK, accepting the premise that she's going to whore around anyway, why not extort money from financially successful Neanderthals? Well then, why not $500 or $1,000 a month each? Really. If your going to compound felonies, at least get enough to be interesting in like form.
On large incomes like that, much larger sums are still chump change, so the 'gentle' extortion is no less onerous and still a felony.....times 40. In reality, though, most large income owners watch their money like hawks and any amount over $.45 would be noted and might be dismissed, but not if regularly transferred. Nope, an active declaration by the Neanderthal would be required to keep it out of an audit....so more would be far more realistic and reasonable. The excuse for $250 was very weak.
Anyway, a little sad, overall.
I quit enjoyed it, it wasn't super erotic but it still gave me a boner. Sharing my wife is one of my biggest fantasies and this story really flows together. Try and write more.
