I would say you went wrong by making the husband so accepting. You missed out on any drama that the story might of had and instead destroyed the respect that the readers have in the characters.
Her husband loves her but it's not enough she just has to have more. Few will admire the husband for sharing while it is a double standard sharing a women is often thought of as a man not respecting himself. While the wife's willingness to share shows a lack of love for her husband. Great he willing to share her but shouldn't he deserve a women that just loves him?
