"Bittersweet Scenes from a Life In Progress"
So many things I thought I'd forgotten
were being brought back to me tonight in a deluge of memory-
Trace amounts of my childhood,
like eating Smartys until the sugar burned my throat
and learning the the meaning of words like
"epilepsy" and "divorce"
before I was able to comprehend why
it was important for me to learn them.
Tonight I remembered the moment it became a sin
to cry; I was eleven and I had just
locked up my life and
threw away the key.

Moody

Heavy load for an eleven child to carry. The unspoken words speak volumes.
