among the wise it seems agreed
that 'mid the anarchy of over-modern humanity,
there are many promising seeds
which may survive the silicon storm
and (with any luck)
push their heads above the merchantile muck.

As their roots deepen,
they may freely suck the nourishment
left by Raphael, Kant, Durant,
Thoreau, Lucretius and such...
and thus may learn to embrace each other
as so many colored sisters and brothers!

And wizened thus,
they may proceed to develop the snow white moon
and soon enough,
civilized green shall grow bravely on planet Mars.

As the centuries pass,
star-ship after star-ship,
they'll go valiantly forth
to seek peaceful possibilites
on planets we can barely see!

(or it may all end next week...
'mid mushroom clouds of bigotry)

seeds.

Abandon the merchantile muck ~ build a foundation in the

nourishment left by Raphael, Kant, Durant,Thoreau, Lucretius and such. There is a distinctive quiet mystical strength to this rendering.

I really think you should get out more often

I mean after reading this, I'm curious as to what you think of the other poetry.

To say something about this one:

'mid mushroom clouds of bigotry

may be a bit too much.
