I know you don't give a shit about me.
My attraction to you is the very definition of insanity
As I slam my heart against the wall of your apathy naively expecting something to change.

Well-intentioned obsessions have become a compulsion.
I'm a lovesick puppy that you won't take home.
A competent beta overshadowed by the bravado of alpha after alpha
Toeing the line when I should step up, stand out, stand tall and carpe everything I ever wanted.

I want you.
You don't want me.

I respect that.

I anticipated it the moment I first saw you but in my own foolhardy way
I just had to try
Something to get your attention
that even if you did acknowledge,
failed to mention.

So I tell myself that I moved on.
Yet here I am
Singing this same old song.
Solo.

That was the greatest compliment of my talent that I have ever been given. I hope I can live up to that title. Thanks Ashesh.

Nice guys should take bigger chances.... you just never know. And once you do know, you know.
