Again the souls

Is love fleeting?      
does it float in the ethereal
land once or twice        
stay momentarily.
do the fleeting thoughts just beyond our ken      
tell us what will be?        could be?        

many paths are trodden
which is the right one      
Don't they all lead to the same End        
  
some meander down
byways and gullies      
Darkness and light      
the abyss dismal dank and Dark,
lift Thyself up and look.
take the moment and reach for the stars      
Once you were there      
and now are here      
Maybe for Me
     and maybe for Us          
who denies
      reaches the End          

But if love floats
         then lands and stays        
What then, dear Heart        
Would it last a lifetime      
could it last for two        
  
Is it the soul that loves        ,
gets touched,  remembers        
in each return to the flesh  ?      

Maybe the flame, burning bright      
lighting up from inside      leads the way  
Or again, that burning
  creates a Dark desire          
Turning       Twisting      warping      
till the rough hewn way
       is smoothed for all      
do the twain remain  , eternal forever      
finding the other
       wherever they are        
paying the price
      who shall be willing      
walk the fire
       subsume the desire        
and meet on the Far side
