An Interlude

byTE999©

With an economy of movements
She dresses in the Dawn
Wondering if he will miss her
When awakes and finds her gone

Her memories still vivid
How he took her in the night
Commanding and demanding
Their passions taking flight

His stiffness deep within her
Her wetness gripping tight
They moved in urgent rhythm
Moaning in delight

They rode the crest together
Crashing down the other side
Then he kissed her oh so sweetly
And held her as she cried

He drifted into slumber
So pleased their paths had crossed
She felt a pang at leaving him
But she could not bear the cost

Of losing a life of comfort
And languid hours of ease
Enduring a loveless marriage
To a man she couldn’t please

Slipping out the doorway
Hurrying to her car
Fleeing another of many lovers
In her sexual bazaar

An antidote for loneliness
A warming of her soul
Until she became a wife once more
Playing her practiced role

A smile masking the sadness
A laugh hiding the pain
‘Till another one night lover
Makes her feel alive again
