dead-weed field
opressive summer heat
cut-open half-box
warped from rains, long dried
scatter-filled
multicolored glass shards
diamond sharp
green, blue, red, gray, yellow
glinting in the sun
broken magnets
dropped from refrigerators
monopoles
hearts, moons, stars

growing darkness
the horizon nears
deep gray slowing billows
distant giant's footsteps
felt before heard

accumulation of charge
coulomb upon coulomb
positive above, negative below
cool gust, redolent of ozone
difference heightens
until they can leap to each other
crackling arc of pure light
rends the air
resonant boom
echoing from distant trees and hills

the box shakes
the pieces move
rearrange

big firstdrops plopping
rippled cardboard
turning a deeper brown
spot by spot
fragements jarred together
shaken apart

downpour
sharp points find accomdating concavities
southern poles attract northern
kindred spirits

entropy does not rule
over broken dreams
or splintered souls

Imagery

Sounds like a literary chemical spill.

~~

From the refuse filled vacant lot

To the explosive growth of a thunderstorm,

Wonderfully described.

Very...

....intersting read, and I absolutely love the last stanza.

natural chaos .........

....and natural order. I like the wording and always enjoy learning new words - monopole and coulomb. It's a great combining of technical - to me - words and the familiar to create the images
