When the klaxon sounded
graveyard shift climaxion
we two sallied forth

into odd dawn, gladdened
& exhausted in the grip
of the midnight sun

She'd held my custom four
tine tungsten tuning fork with
firm-focus’d precision

delicate & unyielding
in the hexagonal yoni
of her tooled pig iron collet

Yea strum the rung tines
roughly, that very roughage
the measure, relentlessly

mounting temposity of our
collaborative elan
