The pain is dull but ever present
My head is filled with cotton candy
Focus is impossible
I know I have lost something
Uncertain what it is
Or where to look for it
But I ache to find it
Something tells me to turn inside
I have lost myself
Rediscovery is within my power
If only I have the courage to search
A mental searching for ones bearings after invasive surgery. Well described.
Whether literal or metaphorical, the message is the same, as you recover and try to get your bearings.
I like the passion again in this poem. It feels raw and real. Often just the right word.
And you do have the courage! I know exactly what you're talking about- going through it myself.
