If I never moved to New York
Would I have truly ever felt
The warmth of Spring's first breath
Releasing me from the cold embrace
That Winter holds me in for 3 full moons

Would the taste of love's elixir
Ever have sat upon my tongue
Would the warmth of love's breath
Ever have permeated my heart

For we kissed carelessly
Under sheets made of words
That were spoken in silence
After breathing sighs of relief

Though how does one know
The answer to such questions
Of what is and what came to be

It's like trying to answer...
What does vespertine wine taste like?
When it settles differently on everyone's palate

Or how does one follow lines
That have gone crooked
And your eyes grow tired
As they follow them sideways
zig zag zig zag zig zagging
All over the place

And finally when you breathe
Everything just lets you be
The same as it always was

Ahh..

New York..New York.. home of the big (frozen) apple, with the 52" of snow in the north and the ziggy zaggy lines. Winter could be longer than 3 full moons and should leave lots of time to think and think deeply, of the answers to your questions.

~~

Those tough questions whose answers are always on a personal plane.
