broken woman what have you been through,
to stand there an empty shell with stained cheeks.
Your eyes so swollen and puffy from all the crying,
your voice strained and raspy from silent screams.

What replaced the shine in your eyes with tears,
took your hope and dreams leaving you in fear.
Is there anything that could bring life back into you,
or is there nothing to ease those flowing tears?

Can you look into a mirror and see the real you,
or is the reflection the image of things said to you?
Is there an ounce of hope buried somewhere within,
or has all that been stripped away from inside you?

Can you remember a pleasant moment and smile,
or is everything now relaced with unpleasantries.
Does the sun still shine, is the world now colourless
and lacking of all the simple joys and beauty.

Broken woman, do you wish to stay sitting there,
wrapped in knots of your own limbs and crying?
Would you take a chance and leave this place,
and try to put yourself together yet again?
