my heart hurts
knowing its time
to close the door
move on with my life
letting you go
I cry
feeling the tears
slipping silently down
leaving a path
like a river
my heart breaking
I hear you say no
please I need you
for what I ask
your ego
your pride
you don't love me
you never did
you reply
but I need you...

Sad, but all too common.

Many people never are able to distinguish between love and need. Even worse is when the relationship is based on mutual need - nothing but pain and sadness in the future.

Lovely job of bringing out the pathos in so few lines.

Regards, Jack

~~

A relationship filled with pain

Even ending it's filled with pain,

So is continuing on with no change;

Time to move on and perhaps grow.
