        a shout in the night
a yelp of fright
    always looking for a fight

        her steps are brief
while baring teeth
    staring up from beneath

        quick as light
a blurring sight
she will bark but will she bite

        but who's to blame
no way to tame
she'll bark on just the same

        there's just no sleep
nor dream too deep
to get away from that annoying creep

        I can't discern
which way to turn
left or right that voice will return

        what's left to do
but grab my shoe
and hope to GOD my aim is true!!!
