I guess I should have known better
Than to expect so much from you.
It dawned on me the other day,
That you really don’t have a clue.

If I told you, straight up,
And put it in black and white,
Would you have even considered
Waiting up for me that night?

I’m not into crying out,
Or searching for affection.
I’m looking for some peace,
And your undivided attention.

You could be so good for me
If you weren’t so damn clueless.
Or if, at least, I could spill the beans
This all wouldn’t be so useless.
