Silver turns to silence when gold doth appear
Rapture fades to nothing as hate dithers near
Happy soon surrenders when sadness enters in
Sunshine slowly darkens as clouds roll and spin

Goodness turns corrupted when evil seethes about
White starts to dirty as blackness swarms throughout
Teardrops fall like rivers and sobs are forced to yell
Heaven ceases being as heat escapes from hell

Kindness all but closes when cruelty persists
Forgiveness becomes foreign as anger shows its fists
Smiling becomes frowning when no one seems to care
And the world goes on spinning with its people unaware.
