A wish for ignorance

That I never knew the depth of my desire

The fathoms of my frustration

How intensely I could want something I will never have

How far my choices have led me from where I want to be

How numerous the needs that elude me

I wake up, searching

My first thought, to connect

My heart, reaching out

Searching for human contact

Cold and empty

Longing to return

To the oblivion of sleep

The weightlessness of dreaming

The vale of affection and fulfillment

Yet another "me" I will never be

More dreams never to be fulfilled

The mosaic of my soul, incomplete

Some really nice lines

I really like so many lines in this poem.

For me, the lines do not quite connect as a coherrent whole. Nonetheless, superb lines.

I look forward to reading more by you.
