I fell asleep,
Then woke in a moon-silvered room
Decked with starlit filgree.
I walked down a long corridor,
Echoes dying round my feet.
I walked in darkness rich as velvet,
Darkness pressing like a lover,
Wrapping 'round me, pressing closely.
So intimate, never giving quarter.
Night incarnate pressed against my eyes
Like an inky blindfold.
I felt my way, fingers brushing walls,
Heart in throat but moving forward,
And then I reached the room.
The room where you and I are real together.
I didn't think I'd find it.
A big room.
Shelves of books capped with windows all around.
Floors of sleek, mirrored wood,
Reflecting the cool white light of the moon.
A stillness in the air.
An utter lack of sound,
Save my heavy breathing.
There's a chair.
I approach. I must.
I sit, looking into the shadows,
Focusing on nothing, alert for anything.
And then I feel it.
I feel you.
I feel you behind me.
Long seconds pass before you gather my hair,
Pull it aside and kiss my neck.
I shiver.
I shiver hard.
Teeth graze my skin, just sharply enough.
You know what you do to me.
The chuckle in my ear sends shivers down my spine,
And little jolts all through me,
Setting all my sensitive spots tingling.
I'm on edge for you, and you know it.
You come around to face me,
I arch in anticipation,
Thighs rubbing together,
Heat pooling,
And then the alarm clock rings.
