I awaken
I don't know why
it's the deep of the night
there's a clock ticking
the hum of the air conditioner
I'm snuggled next to my man
my man
my head rests on his broad shoulder
his strong arms around me
I can feel him breathing
the rise and fall of his chest
next to mine
my hand is resting
on his crotch
with my hand
where it is
I toy with the idea
of arousing him from sleep
he's a good sport
and wouldn't mind
but he needs his sleep
tonight
I smile to myself
thinking of the frantic energy
we exerted making love
before we fell asleep here
in our bed
our bed
so I snuggle close
let his breaths
lull me back to sleep
and to dream
dreams
of him
and me
of us
I'll dream sweet dreams of us
