~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I know you all, but not at all
Between us lies a screen of light
No one to call, in love I fall
And no one here who knows my plight
It isn't right, without a fight
My bowing to your luring charms
I need respite, ask if I might
A day, a month – life in your arms
My needy palms, which beg for alms
Of care, acceptance, love from you
They'd serve as balms, soothe and calm
My wounded heart, my spirit too
Too much to ask? Too big a task?
That's why, my love, this quiet mask.
This is a wonderful peice of poem. Really tug the heart string of a lover or a neglected spouse, who are in need of the loving care. I like it a lot.
...very poignant, and very well written. There have been times where I can relate to your words...
