Click hereI'm driving down the eastbound motorway;
ahead there will be rain. Against the dark
of lowering clouds, strong, threatening and stark,
the evening paints the trees upon the grey
in livid yellow and unhealthy green -
a whisky-ad, a slightly overdone
bold effort of a too ambitious sun
proclaiming proudly that it will be seen.
And in my mirror all the western view
is uneventful, well-behaved and dull,
impersonal and senseless, bound to lull
the watcher into feeling feckless, too -
No way the eerie sunlight's magic trick,
but just a postcard, effortless and slick.
What a beautiful picture, creates a mood and sends my mind to many thoughtful and not always happy road trips.
I started reading your poems from 'A' but it seems you are drawing away from me. No problem when they are all as good as the ones you have entered in the last few days
of lowering clouds, strong , threatening & stark .........
these Gothic clouds always transport this reader into the charmed Horrors of Transylvania of my unfettered imagination !! thnx for sharin' Dem : 5-ed .
very clearly offers another view as in probably saying two things at once, looks like a sonnet but I'm little more amazed by this
in livid yellow and unhealthy green -
I have a bad rap for being Adjective happy, so keep that in mind when I say I like, glad ti see the palate expanding from the usual grey.
