When the tears have stopped falling
and the worst of the pain is gone
Don't forget me

When you're going to bed and wake up
just to realise I'm no longer there
Promise me you won't forget

Do keep in your memory the times,
the laughter and the cries?
Please tell me you'll treasure it all
Don't be mad at me, please don't be
I can't take it if you are
It's not my fault, it's out of my reach
Or perhaps I'm a coward...

Please don't hate me for the choices I've made
It already hurts too much as it is
We've gone through a lot
I hope I've given you something back
Hope you'll remember me as I was,
not the way I am now

I'm sorry about all of this
I know words don't help,
but as you look back
Please remember me the way I was
Remember the good times

And as another chapter begins
I'd like to hold you close,
kiss you and wake up one last time
For when the morning comes a new day has begun
And as I kiss you and whisper my last farewell
I hope that the next time you wake up
I hope you haven't forgotten me
I silently hope you'll remember me somewhat well
