many thoughts cloud my mind
and then i think of you
that casual smile, light conversations
reveal to me the truth
no time to trivialize
but gently you criticize
the flaws that keep me away
outside the light, i got lost in the night
my hopes had gone astray
and with a cringed sigh i ponder why
my life was an open book
for you to read and you did succeed
with more than just a look
you may not be true love
the one that i dream of
perhaps dreams should simply be
that tool a guide
to what lies deep inside
in the end there is only me
