I woke up in a puddle of lust
can’t even live a moment of my life
without your eyes getting in the way
How can I forget you?
Just walk away from this infatuation-
your spirit rings in my visual ears
the aura of a beauty cannot be quickly overlooked
so it sings to me all night long
I slept with a clenched heart
warm from your presence that has left abruptly
everything Is spinning, your vitality makes me dizzy
I fall over when I try to imagine your thoughts
they are the most lustrous of a stunning diamond stone
your mind is like a giant rainforest to me-
so deep, lush, wild, adventurous,
filled with new ideas at every turn
and when you smile, it’s like a breathtaking rainbow
across a perfect picturesque cloudless blue sky-
I solemnly could stare at it forever
though if I’m lucky I only get a glimpse
as colors from the rainbow
hit me as they’re splattered by my memory prism
reminiscing the constant sun and storm
beads of moisture are abundant throughout
I’m swimming in insane stubborn bliss
alone with my heart flaming
scorching wildfires can’t just be instantly extinguished.
I don’t care how much water you drench me in
it’ll still spread from my head to my toes
to my fingertips and back into wherever my thoughts are born
I will never get away from the shattered spectrum
thickly painting every inch of my heart-
hastily corrupting any innocence I had left
and I continue to ask questions-
I pursue my wishes and hopes
that I know will never be realized.
I’m not allowed on your soil
or to dance in your miniscule ponds after a rain
-or to stare at the rainbow until my eyes go blank-
and there is nothing more but the sound of your voice
whispering "I love you" in my ear--
the end might come for all of us
even the perfect ones I do tend to be obsessed
but if I could live in your drizzled land
kaleidoscopic waves rushing to the shores
death would no longer be a such a terror to me
for you’d be invariably in my arms.
