Enamoured was I, when slowly,
I watched the world break apart.
The clouds stretched and dissipated,
The trees snapped back, flat against the ground,
The buildings and homes, housing hearts,
Unravelled brick by brick, the cement crumbling to dust.
The ground shook in rhythm with each step you took toward me,
And nothing passed the barriers in the air between us.
All quietened when you stopped in front of me,
And took my hand.
