Half seen shadows
of a nation’s stolen glory,
demons and angels
frozen in wide smiles
and twisted into frowns,
our worst fears glimpsed
in glossy magazines,
flung in our faces
by hands that never question
the why or how,
right or wrong,
only the dimes gained.
Crimson passion
captured in still frame.
Freaks twisted into the bizarre,
beyond repair,
a fake reality
that invades the real one,
mocks humanity.
Journalistic integrity ~ contradiction in terms
As stories are hyped for what'll sell
And truth is scarred with rationalized obfuscation.
I believe you might work on your line breaks, swap out a few worn out words, but overall, I like your presentation and your views. good work
The sad plight of our once free press summed up in the few words of this poem.
a fake reality
that invades the real one,
mocks humanity.
