Shimmering along with the golden sunset
Are the teardrops that we share
Trying to let go of one another
It seems too impossible to bear

Through all the smiles, together we were
We laughed like children, we often played in the snow
Gone are those happy days, I shall miss them so
Here in my heart, I shall always remember

Through all the tears, we shared our strength
Leaning on each other, lending a helping hand
Encouraging one another to go on seems so long ago
Time passes, oh so quickly, ‘tis like holding grains of sand

The thought never crossed my mind
That someday we would have to part
Yet, here we are, standing across each other
Afraid to let go, but needing to do so

You turn away from me, I do the same
The tears are not shameful
But seeing you cry tears me apart
Please, let the pain go, let it go

As the sun starts to set, I can feel the arms of darkness
I cry freely now, as I had never done before
Truly, this parting is a most difficult task
An important part of me has died suddenly
Taking away all the light, just like this timeless dusk
