FADED
You said you loved me
with all your heart;
that never
would we be apart.

But look at us now
so different and strange;
who would have ever thought
we both would change.

But I want you to know
that from the beginning
the love we felt never died;
but just kept fading.

But that faded love
I hold dearly in my heart;
For it's given me strength;
Since we've been apart.

I thank you
for the times we shared;
and through everything that's happened
I always knew you cared.

So you see my love
we changed so much with each new day;
that the love we felt never died
it just faded away.

so true

What a great way to describe the way people fall out of love. We don't just wake up that way, we fade away!Beautiful!!

Sentimental

the overused rhyme of heart and apart that almost made me stop reading after the first stanza didn't get any fresher in the fourth stanza.

I hear that you have great emotions to tell us about. Seek new ways to say them. Keep Writing.
