I pack my life into a sack on my back
Onto my shoulders, I let the weight fall
When I step towards the edge, I can never look back
With the wind on my face and my life in the bag

There's a sky overhead and an ocean below
There are fathoms of doubt where I dared never go
And my fear of this life dwind'ling by all too slow
Never matching the fear of the depths I will go

Will I step to the edge of complacent repose?
Will I leap into honesty's passionate throes?
Will I hedge for a moment, and wiggle my toes?

I approach and affirm, I will not jump at all
I
will
spread
wide
my arms. . .

and
fall
