The wise ones say the vapour trails
Of thought never quite fade,
That nothing wipes the wingprint
Of an eagle from the sky.

The wise ones tell us life is brief
As an afternoon's parade
And we all meet as strangers
Sharing a difficult history.

Wise ones say our life's a bubble
Briefly in the air,
Bubbles pass, & bubbles touch
And bubbles turn & stare.

Bubbles wobble, bubbles tremble
Bubbles can despair,
Bubbles burst and their breath floats free
And never disappears.
