I’m accused of forgetting
I do forget
Crisp morning air
Scent of new rain and pine
Fiery sunsets and magical dawns
Monet’s flowers
Blood pounding through veins
Flush cheeks and pulsing cocks
Take them away
How quickly I remember
Lungs bursting beneath waves
Crack of my shin at midnight
Terror engulfing at the final beat
How can I forget
You are air, light, and life
Without them I’m nothing
Without you I’m empty
