now and then
life's fitful fever strikes me:
the urge to scrawl %
to savor blue sky
why!, oh my

It would be excellent to put Martin Luther King on the twenty-dollar bill
also to remove Jackson, but not with malice

ya know, i've some Stacked books
but i'm not In them;
supple, sable ravens build nests on the roof
of the university library

ya know, I've supped full with terrors:
like vapid city steets teeming lethal autombiles,
Built youths in $$ clothes with uncaring SS eyes,
friends who hadn't heard that the word is LOVE.
no Turbans were involved!

I would like to spend some sunny years
fishing and gardening
by a serene mountain lake

what is energy without spirit?

my Brain is Empty
and i Don't mind:
i could wait for never

Tis so jambled that
it ain't even truth no more,
just the essence of hustling ramming
against the essence of order
both ambiguous to begin with

this could easily seem meaningless to a reader
but that is perHaps its merit:
"it" in various, riotous senses!

the drugs,
the drinking,
the very caffeine!
my sensitive fellow humanes,
I do not condemn these...
but i Warn you Against them

the smell of Main St, Ashland, Oregon, USA
when we danced downhill in thousands
the traffic all but blocked off in anticipation
the dirty orange carpet of pretend liberalism layed out to the inevitable:
1st bombs were falling on Baghdad and,
unheeding of our banners and roaring songs of peace
of our bewilderness hearted, athletic strivings,
uncaring, thuggish things were afoot

"but they can't steal my anger"- The Gin Blossoms

my wild elephant child
rearing and exploited
in the elephant village outside Hua Hin, Thailand,
how are you, my sweet friend?

oh, to be of three minds,
to be "crazy" :
it's torturous, not glamorous!

jonny lang dazzled my heart with RainShine,
back when it still beat with the giddiness of a budding buck,
and the flowers of vice still threw off perfume!

how slimy this society
that neglects poets and innovators
and boasts of smug CEOs

so go not gently into that capitalist night
but hang a lantern where the people can see,
one if by land
two if by sea,
and let every world mountainside ring

WITH FIERCE HOWLS OF LIBERTY!!
