the innocent faces of the flowers
looking upwards like children
tilting radiantly toward the sky
tickled by sun quenched by rain
immodestly displaying the intimacy
of their brilliant colors
bending in the breeze and
twinkling in the morning light…

it was here wasnt it
the place of scattered remains
the ash diffused and carried
across the quiet pond
in the gently blowing breeze…
remember the breeze…
it blew so softly that day
here now among these flowers.
