I found you
waiting
eyes closed
sweet sleep still clinging
to the corners of your mouth

rhythm of your breath
in cadence
to the rain
drumming freely
outside the window

your honey drizzled skin
the fire of youth
jubilant innocence
held at bay
by the naked indecency of the hour

a dream dances across your eye
as you turn
and reach for me
draped in twilight
and memories now carved in snow

you sigh
pull me close
and I melt
safe to drown
in the sea of your intent
