I Love My Husband

My husband is not much to look at.
As a matter of fact, I did not see him.
He saw me first.
Sitting with my girls, checking out the guys that passed.
He walked by and no one noticed.
He didn't even make our scale, but he saw me.

The next day he walked to me and stopped.
He looked me in the eye and said 'HI'
'I saw you yesterday wth your friends.
You were laughing with them.
Judging the guys that past.
Did I rank?
Don't answer.
You didn't see me, but I saw you.'

He said and I flushed.

'Um' I stammered.

Then he stood to leave and I knew.
I could not let him leave.
'Stop. I'm not really that shallow,' I said.

'I know. I couldn't love you if you were.'
he whispered.

'I plan to marry you one day.' he said and 24 years ago, he did.
Oh did I tell you I LOVE MY HUSBAND.
