2002

Fragile unreality
unravels
when breath and motion
collide with same.

I was slender bending
in deepest thought,
liquid smooth,
pouring over,
around.

Now full and body,
a stream of awkward
meandering
through shy country,
over stone not yet polished.

Wade in me
then walk that field
to dry in distant place.

I was river
up there
where dreams are.

Now I'll flow
to the sea.
